Some time ago I showed you some features of the upcoming windows 8. You can see it here Windows 8 features if you havent seen it already. Windows 8 had some cool features which i can't wait to use. It look quite impressive and if you cant wait to see how will it feel, like me, then this tutorial is for you.

I am going to show you how to change your present windows 7 to  look and feel  like windows 8. There are many windows 8 themes out there already, i won't talk about them. Now lets see some of the important features of windows 8 and how can we add them in windows 7...

1. Interactive tiles:

As we all know windows 8 will be more tablet oriented and will have interactive tiles instead of icons. Now to add this feature in windows 7 there are 2 free programs available. First one is Omnimo 4 for rainmeter. What this will basically do is it will turn your desktop into fully customizable group of tiles.

Steps to install omnimo 4:

  • first you need to install rainmeter. You can download it from here
  • then download the actual program omnimo 4 from here and install it, quite easy to install
  • then open the freshly installed omnimo 4 n you will see an intro. Pretty much is self explanatory after that

If you for some reason dont like this program( i cant think why you wont) then you can try Mosaic which does almost the same thing. Its still in its alpha stages so i dont recommend this. You can download it from here(its an lmgtfy link try this:P)

2. Interactive wallpapers

Now that you have added some cool interactive tiles, the next step is to add an interactive wallpaper.
You can do it by using another free software called Okozo. You can download it from here. It provides some really cool wallpapers you can interact with (not just another animated wallpaper software which are quite popular). You can read a full review about OKOZO here:

3. Windows 8 snap feature

Lastly after adding some interactive tiles and interactive wallpapers our windows 7 already looks pretty similar to windows 8. Now to add some functionality you can use a program called Winsplit. Download it from here. It adds some more features to the already present snap feature in windows 7 and improves the ability to multitask."WinSplit Revolution is a small utility which allows you to easily organize your open windows by tiling, resizing and positioning them to make the best use of your desktop real estate".

This completes the transformation of windows 7 to windows 8:D  If you didnt understand any of the steps mentioned above feel free to write in the comments section. I will respond as soon as possible. So do you like the new look of your desktop....???
